Navigating Rainy Conditions

If you are on the roads during heavy rain this summer, you do not want to be one of the 1.2 million drivers who found themselves in an accident due to rain last year. Prepare for rainy conditions by giving your car a thorough inspection before you even hit the road. Check the tire tread, tire pressure, windshield wipers and headlights before driving.

The most important thing to remember is that you should be as visible as possible to other drivers, especially at night. Even if you think it is still light enough outside, put your headlights on immediately if you are using your windshield wipers. In some states, you could be ticketed for failing to do so. Also, leave adequate space for the car in front of you so that you do not have to brake immediately.
